Steely Dan, The Blue Nile, Peter Gabriel and The Beatles were my main inspirations and I am heavily into Jazz and Jazz Fusion.
I also have a deep affinity with Pat Metheny, both for his playing and composition.
We got together in 2000 and started recording some songs Ian had written, which had a much more introspective approach. These recordings turned into the album Reflections which was very well received by all and sundry.
We followed this up with our third album Return Of The Moddey Dhoo in 2009. Which is literally a Manx term for Black Dog. This has a slightly darker feel overall, but doesn't lose the strong sense of melody and musicianship.
It recently won 3rd prize for Fatea's Showcase album/track of the year!
